A Pennsylvania resident, Kolber received her graduate degree at her alma mater, the University of Miami. In New York City, she started her career as a CBS Sports Video Coordinator. She received an Sports Emmy while working for WTVJ-TV Miami. She was employed at WPLG-TV, Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. She was hired by ESPN in 1993, and was one of the first anchors on ESPN2 when it was first launched. After three years of being with ESPN2, she resigned from ESPN2 to join Fox Sports. In 1999, she was recruited by ESPN to host "Monday Night Countdown.
